Jenna Zagoren is the owner of Mind Body Nourishment, LLC, a private practice that teaches and promotes whole-being wellness through the use of Functional Medicine based nutrition, the Neuropsychology of Mindfulness and Somatic Experiencing, the application of Health Behavior Change Theory and Compassion-Based Coaching, along with basic food education, therapeutic herbs and yoga.

With a background in psychology, extensive experience in organic agriculture and an extremely green thumb, she brings her knowledge and deep understanding of both the human psyche and the world of plants into all her work. She sees clients individually and teaches mindfulness and wellness workshops remotely.

In addition to operating a private practice Jenna has provided Nutrition Advising for an integrative compounding pharmacy and apothecary for over three years. She graduated from Maryland University of Integrative Health where she received a Master of Science in Nutrition and Integrative Health and training in Health and Wellness Coaching. An avid and devoted yogini for over a decade, Jenna has completed over 700 hours of RYT training and maintains a daily practice. Jenna has passed the national boards and is pending Board of Certified Nutrition Specialists (BCNS) certification and licensure.

A lifelong student and practitioner of meditation, mindfulness and yoga, Jenna was born to two devotees of the Siddha Yoga spiritual path and introduced to spiritual practice and visits to an ashram in Ganeshpuri, India while still in the womb. She participated in A Year of Living Mindfully, a year-long program of community spiritual practice with Insight Meditation Community of Washington (IMCW) lead teacher Jonathan Foust, has completed a 200-hour RYT training with Flow Yoga Center in Washington, DC and is currently completing the 300-hour Teaching From The Heart yoga teacher training through Flow Yoga and The Daily Vinyasa. She has trained with and follows her beloved teachers Tara Brach, Pema Chodron, Hugh Byrne, Jon Kabat-Zinn, Thich Nhat Hanh, Frank Ostaseski, Shiva Rea, Simon Park, Catherine Zack, Sam Breschi and Mother Nature. She loves teaching the practices of mindfulness and compassion, and seeing the resulting insight, expansive sense of freedom, choice, clarity and ever-deepening experience of love, gratitude and acceptance these practices offer.

Her unique combination of rigorous training across a wide breadth of both scientific and esoteric areas of study has given her the ability to understand the intersectionality of these fields of study, and how they work with one another in the expression of health and all forms of wellness. She possesses the rare ability to blend the spiritual with the biochemical, the psychological with the physical, the scientific with the intuitive, and the energetic with the three dimensional. Jenna’s great passion is to weave together physical as well as emotional, psychological and spiritual wellness practices in order to assist her students and client’s in finding the greatest possible expression of health, joy and peace.
